SUMITOMO ELECTRIC (THAILAND) LIMITED

Sumitomo Electric Thailand, Ltd (SET) is the subsidiary company of Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI) in Japan. We were established in 1989 as the sales office for several products from our manufacture in Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, United State of America and United Kingdom. Our main customers are manufactures of major home appliance, automotive parts and telecommunication products.

The Sumitomo business was started in Kyoto, the historic capital city of Japan, in 17th by Masatomo Sumitomo and Riemon Soga. Masatomo is regarded as the spiritual founder of the Sumitomo Group. They opened copper refining business and a copper workshop there.

Based on long experiences of copper related products, the Sumitomo Copper Rolling Works was established to manufacture copper wires (bare wires), copper plates, and copper rods, which is the formation of the Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd (SEI). Since then, SEI has developed many new technologies and products through innovative R&D activities based on Sumitomo Electric manufacturing technologies for electric wires and power cables. To support our life and society, Sumitomo Electric Group provides products and technologies in five segments: Environment & Energy, Infocommunications, Automotive, Industrial Materials, and Electronics.
